by admin477351

In just a month since the debut of Etihad Rail’s new passenger service connecting Abu Dhabi and Fujairah, the initiative is already having a positive impact on tourism, local businesses, and regional connectivity within the United Arab Emirates. The service, which reduces travel time between the two emirates to less than two hours, has been met with enthusiastic demand, with many journeys fully booked.

Local enterprises are reaping the benefits of this increased activity. Car rental services near the Mohamed bin Zayed City Station in Abu Dhabi have witnessed a surge in customer interest, and hotels in the Fujairah area report heightened occupancy rates. To further enhance accessibility, new bus routes have been established, ensuring smoother last-mile connectivity for travelers.

Looking ahead, Etihad Rail has ambitious plans to extend its passenger network. Stations in Dubai and Sharjah are slated to commence operations on September 30. This expansion will be followed by the opening of additional stations in Madinat Zayed and Liwa, scheduled for November 30. This phased rollout aims to bolster mobility and contribute to economic growth throughout the country.

The introduction of the rail service not only facilitates more efficient travel but also plays a vital role in strengthening economic ties across the emirates. As the network grows, it is expected to offer further support to local commerce and tourism sectors, enhancing the connectedness of the region.
