In a bid to enhance regional industrial cooperation and bolster supply-chain resilience, the United Arab Emirates is actively participating in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministerial meetings in Bahrain. Led by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, the UAE delegation is engaging in discussions as part of the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee and the Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs, focusing on deeper integration among GCC countries and exploring opportunities for investment and partnerships.

The meetings, which are taking place from October 6 to 8 alongside the Made in GCC Forum and Exhibition 2026, aim to strengthen the competitiveness of Gulf industries by capitalizing on the combined capabilities of GCC nations. This collaboration seeks to develop more integrated regional value chains, which could lead to enhanced industrial productivity and competitiveness through the use of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence.

UAE companies are showcasing their national products and industrial technologies at the event, creating avenues for cooperation in manufacturing, technology, and supply chains. The discussions are also covering topics such as industrial financing, innovation, and infrastructure, with several memorandums of understanding expected to be signed between UAE entities and GCC companies to expand industrial partnerships.

The UAE’s industrial sector has seen significant growth, with its exports reaching Dh260 billion in 2025, including Dh92 billion in medium- and high-technology industrial exports. The National In-Country Value (ICV) Programme has played a crucial role by redirecting more than Dh473 billion into the UAE economy, thereby supporting local companies and strengthening domestic supply chains.

The UAE’s participation in these Bahrain meetings underscores its broader efforts to forge stronger industrial ties within the GCC. By focusing on the integration of advanced technologies and encouraging private-sector involvement, the UAE aims to develop a more competitive and cohesive regional industrial sector.
