The United Arab Emirates is bracing for a spell of sweltering temperatures as a heatwave is anticipated to sweep across the nation. Inland regions are expected to bear the brunt of this heat, with forecasts indicating temperatures could soar up to 48°C. This prediction comes from the country’s National Centre of Meteorology, which has outlined expectations for the upcoming days.

Throughout the country, the weather is set to remain stable, characterized by mostly clear skies and light to moderate winds. Inland temperatures on Friday are projected to fluctuate between 44°C and 48°C, whereas coastal and island areas might experience slightly cooler conditions, with highs ranging from 36°C to 43°C. Areas in the mountains are likely to see temperatures between 32°C and 39°C.

Wind patterns will generally blow from the southwest to northwest, maintaining speeds between 10 to 20kph, occasionally gusting up to 30kph. Despite the heat, the seas are expected to stay calm, with slight conditions anticipated in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. This hot and clear weather pattern is forecast to persist through the weekend.

Saturday may see some low cloud formation along the eastern coast during the morning, and wind speeds could increase, potentially reaching up to 40kph. However, a slight dip in temperatures is on the horizon for Sunday as more vigorous northwesterly winds set in. Some turbulence is possible in the Arabian Gulf, though the Sea of Oman is predicted to remain relatively calm.

The early part of next week, specifically Monday and Tuesday, is expected to present similar weather conditions, with fair skies and occasional morning clouds along the eastern coast. Periods of fresh winds might occur, but sea conditions are anticipated to gradually improve. Meteorologists note that the UAE is entering a phase of typical early-summer weather, marked by scorching daytime temperatures and largely stable atmospheric conditions.
