In a groundbreaking advancement for the UAE’s digital transformation, Ajman has become the first government entity in the nation to employ agentic artificial intelligence for renewing trade licences. This significant achievement is part of the Department of Digital Ajman’s initiative to streamline and modernize government services through AI technology.
The newly developed system revolutionizes the trade licence renewal process by automating tasks that traditionally required human intervention. By leveraging AI, the system can assess customer needs, coordinate necessary approvals, and manage procedures involving multiple government departments. This approach minimizes the need for human input, speeding up and simplifying the renewal process.
The initial phase of this innovative project is concentrated on trade licence renewals managed by Ajman’s Department of Economic Development. Customers are notified automatically when their licences are nearing expiration, allowing them to complete the renewal process seamlessly via the AjmanOne government application. If the commercial lease needs to be renewed as part of the process, the system integrates with the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department to ensure all procedures are completed automatically.
This initiative aligns with the UAE’s broader vision to integrate artificial intelligence into public services. The federal government has set an ambitious target to have half of all government services delivered by AI agents within the next two years. As part of this strategy, thousands of public sector employees will also receive training in advanced AI technologies, ensuring they are equipped to support this digital evolution.
