Amid an expanding global focus on strategic partnerships, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates continue to strengthen their bilateral ties. On Friday, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung engaged in discussions with Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority of Abu Dhabi, highlighting the deepening cooperation between the two nations.
The meeting, held at the presidential office in Cheong Wa Dae, served as a follow-up to agreements made during President Lee’s state visit to the UAE in November. The discussions underscored a commitment to a long-term partnership, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of translating this cooperation into actionable projects.
President Lee expressed gratitude for the UAE’s prioritization of crude oil supplies to South Korea earlier this year. He noted the expanding scope of collaboration in fields such as defense, artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and cultural exchanges. Lee called for enhanced communication between the two countries’ officials to reinforce mutual trust and effectively implement joint initiatives.
During the talks, Al Mubarak conveyed greetings from UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reaffirming South Korea’s status as a close partner. He highlighted the broadening of cooperation beyond traditional sectors like energy and infrastructure to include investment, space exploration, healthcare, and education.
